METROPOLIS OF BOSTON PHILOPTOCHOS BOARD MEETING MINUTES

President Condakes called the meeting to order at 9:30a.m. and opened with the singing
of Christos Anesti!
There were no Minutes from the previous Board Meeting.
Eleni Pantelis read the Correspondence.
Treasurer's Report: Presented by Diane Stamatopulos. The checking account balance
is $34,824.96 and total of all accounts is $110,546.06.
Committee Reports
• Philoxenia House: Eleni Pantelis reported. There are currently 15 guests at the
House with various medical issues. Eleni also noted that a $10,000 donation was
received from the National Philoptochos and was given to the Metropolis to be used
for whatever is needed at Philoxenia.
• Faith and Heritage Center: Barbara Orlando reported that special needs campers
will be accepted during all camp sessions this summer.
• FOS: No report.
• Outreach: Georgia Lagadinos thanked everyone for their participation in the Pine
Street Inn outreach project and noted that the last meal prepared and served consisted
of Greek food that was well received. Georgia also conveyed the appreciation of the
Shattuck Shelter for the donation of clothing and toiletries.
2011 Metropolis Philoptochos Biennial Conference: President Condakes informed the
Board that National President Aphrodite Skeadas will attend the Conference to be held at
the St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church in Braintree on Saturday, June 4, 2011. All
materials and reported needed for the Conference were reviewed. Barbara Orlando
volunteered to serve as Conference Chairman.
His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios introduced Fr. Agathonikos Wilson of the Holy
Trinity parish in Concord, New Hampshire and thanked him for the community's
participation in feeding the hungry. Recently, the Friendly Kitchen shelter, located near
the church, had a fire and the Holy Trinity parish opened its doors to take over serving
two meals per day to the hungry, with the assistance of some 50 other groups within the
Concord area. A total of approximately 1,000 meals per week are served.
There was a break in the meeting at 12:15 p.m. to prepare for the Oratorical
Festival Luncheon. The meeting reconvened at 1:30 p.m.
2011-2013 Budget: President Condakes presented the Proposed Budget along with
Treasurer Diane Stamatopulos. All budget items were reviewed and recommendations
made.
Diane Miminos made a motion to acceptthe Proposed 2011-2013 Budget, as amended,
2nd by Frances McGinnis, motion approved. (Frances Levas voted via conference call)
C!D: The current balance is $57,246.22. The Social Services account needs to be
replenished. Frances McGinnis motioned to take $15,000 from the CD to replenish the
Social Services account, 2nd by Frances Levas, motion approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
