Walk For Hunger/Project Bread
Project Bread's WALK FOR HUNGER: SUNDAY, MAY 1, 2011
If you are a member of a Greek Orthodox Church and over 18 years old and would like to participate in the 2011 Walk for Hunger, please contact the Metropolis Youth Director (617-277-4742) and join our "Metropolis of Boston" Team at www.projectbread.org
If you are a Greek Orthodox Church Youth Adviser and you are interested in participating in the Walk for Hunger with your Youth Group this year, please follow these easy steps:
Step 1: Talk to your Parish Priest
Step 2: Call the Metropolis Youth Director at 617-277-4742
Step 3: Download and have the parent/legal guardian of each child (under 18) fill out a Permission Slip:
Please Note: If the parent/legal guardian of the child is walking with his/her child then a permisson slip is NOT necessary.

Step 4: Collect all completed Permission Slips and mail them before April 22, 2011 directly to...
Step 5: Inform each member of the youth group to go online to www.projectbread.org and join the "Metropolis of Boston" Team.
Step 6: Fundraise and bring all the collected money and checks with you to the Walk on May 1st. We will submit everything as one team!
Please Note: Checks should be made payable to "Project Bread"
Step 7: Attend the Divine Liturgy on May 1, 2011 and then we will begin our Walk!!!
Schedule for May 1, 2011:
6:30 am - Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral Chapel (162 Goddard Ave., Brookline, MA)

7:45 am - Shuttle Vans will bring us to the T and we will meet at the Boston Commons
9:00 am - Begin the Walk!
As part of our social outreach ministry, the Metropolis strongly encourages our youth and young adults from across the Metropolis to join His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios for the yearly Walk for Hunger which raises money to feed the hungry of New England. Our Philoxenia House receives an annual grant from Project Bread. This year, the Walk for Hunger is on Sunday, May 1, 2011. We look forward to seeing you there!
