Feat of St. Andrew the First-Called Patronal Fest of the Metropolis of Boston

On the evening of Friday, November 29, 2019 His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios presided over the Hierarchal Great Vespers for the feast of St. Andrew the First-Called, patron saint of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston. Present for the Vespers service was His Eminence Cardinal Sean O'Malley, accompanied by Dr. Vitto Nicastro, associate director of the Office of Ecumencial and Interreligious Affains for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. The presence of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Boston at this vespers service of the Patronal Feast of the Metropolis of Boston has become a long standing tradition. At the end of the Verspers His Eminence offered the oath of office to the newly elected Metropolis Philoptochos Board. 

On Saturday, November 30, 2019 His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios presided over the Divine Liturgy in honoring the feast of St. Andrew. Fr. Andrew Giourelis together with Archdeacon Dionysios celebrated the Liturgy. Fr. Romanos Karanos, Assistant professor of Byzantine Music at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, chanted during the Divine Services. At the end of the Liturgy His Eminence bestowed on Fr. Romaons the rank of Father Confessor.
