KOSMOS Project 2026: Strengthening Bonds of Faith and Fellowship

Monday, September 07, 2026

The KOSMOS Project 2026 brought together young adults from the Metropolis of Boston and the Metropolis of Neapolis and Stavroupolis for a meaningful exchange centered on Orthodox Christian faith, fellowship, and their shared Hellenic heritage.

A group of 20 young adults from Boston traveled to Thessaloniki, where they were warmly welcomed by Metropolitan Barnabas of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, together with local clergy and faithful.

During the first week of the program, the young adults visited monasteries, churches, and historic sites throughout Thessaloniki and the surrounding region, including a pilgrimage to Meteora. These visits provided opportunities to venerate the sacred relics of saints, learn about the history and spiritual life of the Church in Greece, and experience the warm hospitality of local parishes and communities.

During the second week, the young adults participated in the local camping ministries. The women and men attended their respective camps, where they took part in worship, activities, and fellowship while forming lasting friendships with the campers.

A particularly meaningful part of this year’s KOSMOS Project was the opportunity to reunite with young adults from Greece who had previously traveled to Boston and participated in the Metropolis of Boston Camp. This reunion strengthened friendships established through the exchange and reflected the lasting bonds that the KOSMOS Project continues to foster between young adults in Greece and the United States.

The KOSMOS Project 2026 provided a memorable experience of faith, fellowship, pilgrimage, and service. Through this continued partnership, the young adults had the opportunity to deepen their Christian faith, strengthen their connection to their Hellenic heritage, and build friendships that will continue for years to come.
