Metropolis of Boston Participates in the 2026 National Clergy-Laity Congress

The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston was well represented at the 2026 National Clergy-Laity Congress in Cleveland, Ohio, as clergy, Philoptochos members, and faithful from throughout New England gathered with Orthodox Christians from across the Archdiocese for a week of worship, fellowship, learning, and ministry.

One of the highlights of the week was His Eminence gathering with members of the Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos Board and representatives from local Philoptochos chapters. Together, they discussed the continued growth of Philoptochos throughout the Metropolis, the many ministries that serve those in need, and the important work still to come. Metropolitan Methodios thanked the dedicated women of Philoptochos for their unwavering commitment, generosity, and faithful service to the Church.

A particularly joyful moment came during the National Philoptochos Convention, when the St. George Cathedral Philoptochos Chapter of Springfield, Massachusetts was presented with the National Agape Award. This distinguished recognition honors chapters whose ministry exemplifies the mission of Philoptochos through compassionate service and Christian love. Metropolitan Methodios offered his heartfelt congratulations to the St. George Chapter on this well-deserved honor and expressed his gratitude to Jane Kourtis, President of the Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos Board, for her faithful leadership and continued dedication to strengthening the ministry of Philoptochos throughout the Metropolis.

As the week concluded, the clergy and faithful returned home inspired by the fellowship they shared, the relationships they strengthened, and their renewed commitment to continue the work of Christ in their parishes and communities.
