Metropolitan Methodios Visits Pawtucket for 99th Annual Greek Festival

Metropolitan Methodios visited the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, during the parish’s  99th Annual Greek Festival.

Upon his arrival, His Eminence was warmly welcomed by the young people of the parish, who greeted him on behalf of the community. He was also welcomed by the parish priest, the Rev. Fr. Philip Zymaris and Fr. George Economou, who previously served the parish; with George Karalis, former Parish Council President. 

During his visit, Metropolitan Methodios toured the festival grounds and spent time with parishioners, volunteers, and guests who had gathered to enjoy the annual celebration of Greek faith, culture, food, and fellowship. His Eminence greeted members of the community and expressed his appreciation to the many volunteers whose dedication and hard work make the festival possible each year.

Metropolitan Methodios commended Fr. Philip, the Parish Council, festival organizers, volunteers, and young people for their continued commitment to the life and ministries of the Assumption parish. He offered his blessings and best wishes to the entire community as they celebrated the 99th year of their annual Greek Festival and looked ahead to the historic milestone of its 100th year.
