22nd METROPOLIS OF BOSTON MINISTRY AWARDS DINNER WILL BE HELD JUNE 1

Metropolitan Methodios of Boston will welcome the recipients of the 22nd Annual Ministry Awards of the Metropolis, and hundreds of faithful from throughout New England on Sunday evening, June 1, 2008 at Lombardo’s in Randolph, MA.   Those who attend the dinner gather to celebrate stewardship of time and talents, to renew friendships and to make new acquaintances.  They attend to receive the blessings and the appreciation of their spiritual father who set the theme of the annual gathering in 1987: “We gather together to thank God for our honorees who labor with much love to manifest God’s name in communities throughout New England.  We gather as a family to celebrate our unity; to reassure one another of our support; to affirm that our Church truly is One Holy Catholic and Apostolic; to remember that the purpose of the parishes is to preach the word of God, to teach the faithful.  Each parish must be a spiritual oasis where men and women may quench their spiritual thirst; parishes where every member’s goal is to attain the Holy Spirit.  We honor our laity to stress the Priesthood of all believers.  To remind us all that we share the ministry.”

Stewards from the Parishes of the Metropolis of Boston who attend the Annual Dinner of fellowship, gather, says Metropolitan Methodios, “As an ecclesial family, to honor the dedicated men and women who have been designated to receive the Ministry Award; to honor each of them, and in their persons every member of every community in the Metropolis who (as we pray during the Divine Liturgy), ‘in one mind and in one heart glorify and praise the exalted and majestic name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit’ through their active sacramental life of service.”

Reservations for the 2008 Ministry Awards Dinner may be made through the local parishes.
