NEW ENGLAND PRESBYTERES MEET IN METROPOLIS CENTER

 

           Metropolitan Methodios visited with the New England Presbyteres on Saturday, October 4, during their autumn meeting at the Metropolis Center.  Attending the meeting together with the Presbyteres were wives of Holy Cross Seminarians who have always been the recipients of support from the Sisterhood.  Presbytera Vicki Toppses, wife of Fr. Ted Toppses, Pastor of the Holy Trinity Church in Lewiston, ME, is the President of the Sisterhood.

            Presbyteres from as far away as Bangor and Saco, Maine, attended the meeting which featured fellowship as well as guest speaker George Stavros, Ph.D., Clinic Director of the Danielson Institute at Boston University.  Dr. Stavros, who holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology  (Class of 1991) spoke on the topic, “The Inevitable Cycle of Rupture and Repair in Marriage,” focusing on the unique aspects of clergy marriage.  Metropolitan Methodios shared reflections on the topic stressing the need for maturity and selflessness in a marital relationship.
