2009 VACATION CHURCH SCHOOL CAMPERS LEARNED ABOUT THE SAINTS

The Vacation Church School of the Metropolis of Boston was held at the St. Nicholas Parish in Lexington, MA this year.  More than 50 youngsters participated at the inspiring week-long session the highlights of which were participation at the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Transfiguration at which His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios presided, and a day-long visit on the last day of the program to the St. Methodios Faith & Heritage Center in Contoocook, NH.  Marylyn Pergantis, JOY & HOPE Advisor at the Taxiarchae Parish in Watertown directed the program.  Metropolitan Methodios enjoyed meeting the young participants and the counselors following the Divine Liturgy on August 6.   This year's theme was Brave Believers:  The Saints of our Church."   As they do every year, the young campers had a wonderful day at the Faith & Heritage Center where they were introduced to the Summer Camp Program of the Metropolis.  By all accounts, this annual and always inspiring and successful youth program was enjoyed by the children and all participants.
