GOYA & Family Winter Camps Draw Praise from Delighted Participants

The St. Methodios Faith & Heritage Center in Contoocook, NH was buzzing with happy campers and delighted parents during the weekends of February 18th-21st and 25th-27th.  More than 135 GOYAns participated in the Winter Camp from throughout the Metropolis of Boston.  With 40 well-trained staff members, they enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, tubing and various instructional spiritual and enlightening sessions.  A Goyan was overheard telling her mother, “Mommy, it really does feel that MBC is our home away from home,” which is what His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios has repeatedly told all campers and staff members.  Metropolitan Methodios who had the opportunity to talk with the GOYAns was very pleased by the large number attending, and to hear the comments of the young people.

The Family Winter Camp was enjoyed by 40 families which participated in many age appropriate sessions and fun activities designed and supervised by an enthusiastic staff at the snow covered Faith & Heritage Center.  Dr. Ary Christofidis, the founder of the Orthodox Christian Counseling Institute in Park Ridge, IL was the guest speaker at the Family Winter Camp. One parentremarked: “The facilities were totally awesome and the staff members were most attentive.  Everyone made us feel welcome.”

Both the GOYA and the Family Winter Camps were oversubscribed.
