MBC Week 3 (July 11-17)

Session three at the Metropolis of Boston Camp in Contoocook, NH was blessed to have a beautiful week full of over 150 campers and staff. We began the week with a barbeque for both campers and families on Monday when they arrived. Monday’s welcoming was the first of many beautiful and fun activities. On Tuesday, campers were given the opportunity to swim in our wonderful lake to escape the heat; in addition, lots of great memories were created at our nighttime bean carnival. On Wednesday, the children took part in a prosforo baking and our Pop group, the eldest group, was given the beautiful chance to volunteer at Pine Rock Manor in Warner, NH. Pine Rock Manor is a retirement facility and the Pop campers devoted and volunteered their time towards working on a beautiful garden for the residents. The campers were kept busy all week long with faith based sessions, and were also able to have some fun playing kickball and dodge ball with the counselors, as well as playing in the mud pit and taking turns going down the wild rapids slip and slide. Sunday came very quickly, and the camper’s families joined us for Liturgy and brunch before heading home. We hope to see everyone again in February 2012 for winter camp, and again next summer.
