Third Annual Parish Leadership Development Seminar Series Kicked Off in Fitchburg, M

The Metropolis of Boston launched its third Annual Parish Leadership Development Seminar series at the Holy Trinity Church in Fitchburg, MA, on October 23, 2012 to an enthusiastic and energetic crowd.  The 2012-13 Series theme, Transforming Parish Leadership/Developing Emerging Leaders, features keynote speaker Theo Nicolakis, Chief Information Officer for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.  The Series is designed to empower current and future parish leaders by modernizing existing paradigms and creating new paradigms that enhance parish planning, communication, and Ministry development.   After a light dinner, participants joined discussion sessions to delve further into Parish Leadership, Mentoring and Engaging Emerging Leaders.   Participants left with tools, tangible resources and practical knowledge to utilize and adopt within their local communities.  The Emerging Leaders discussion included a survey designed to capture data from Contemporary Professionals as a component of the Metropolis of Boston Leadership 100 grant.

The next Seminar will be hosted by the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church in Somerville, MA, on November 14, 2012 for District 9 parishes of the greater-Boston area.  Parish leaders, Contemporary Professionals and young adults are welcome and encouraged to attend.
