His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios joined the Honorable Consul General of Greece, Mr. Ilias Fotopoulos for a Wreath Presentation

His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios attends ceremony on Tuesday, April 10, hosted at the Greek Consulate in Boston. The Honorable Consul General of Greece, Ilias Fotopoulos presented four olive branch wreaths to the Boston Athletic Association, which will be used to crown the winners of this coming Monday’s 116th running of the Boston Marathon. The wreaths were recieved by the President of the Boston Athletic Association, Mrs. Joann E. Flaminio and the Executive Director, Mr. Thomas Grilk. The olive branch wreaths were grown, cut, and plaited into winners’ wreaths in Greece, and delivered as a gift from the country of Greece, the country where the first marathon originated, specifically for the Boston Marathon, upholding a long tradition of collaboration and respect between the organizers of the Boston Marathon and the people of Greece.
