Feast of Saints Peter and Paul
On Friday evening, June 28th Metropolitan Methodios and Cardinal O'Malley joined in prayer at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Needham, Massachusetts for the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul. Several clergy from the Metropolis of Boston accompanied Metropolitan Methodios to the Vesper Service.
Every year since the first combined Catholic-Greek Orthodox Pilgrimage in Boston, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston have invited representatives to their Patron Saints’ Day Celebrations (St. Andrew on November 29, and Sts. Peter and Paul on June 29).
This is a direct implementation on the local level of what is happening simultaneously in Rome and Constantinople: His Holiness Pope Francis will receive a delegation from His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople on June 28, and His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will likewise welcome a papal delegation November 29.
