On Sunday March 10, 2019 the Metropolis of Boston Youth Basketball League (MYBL) wrapped up the 2018-2019 season with its annual awards banquet which was generously hosted by the St. Vasilios Parish in Peabody, MA.  The MYBL family led by His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios and clergy from several parishes, came together to pray together during the Divine Liturgy - during which the players of all the teams had toe opportunity to witness an ordination. His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios ordained Dr. Jonathan Mettasophia to the Holy Diaconate. Deacon Jonathan will be serving as the Associate Pastor of the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Charolette, North Carolina. Clergy, Coaches, Players, Parents and Family came together to celebrate this years league champions and to recognize all the players of the league for their talent and sportsmanship! His Eminence congratulated all the players for their hard work and sportsmanship. His Eminence commended the parents of all the players for encouraging their children to participate in the league, as well as the coaches who help mentor their teams; fostering healthy sportsmanship in a Christ centered environment.

This year’s league featured 23 teams from 13 parishes playing in 3 different divisions. The JOY Division championship went to the undefeated team from the Taxiarche Church in Watertown while the GOYA Boys Division championship went to the undefeated team from Sts.
