On Saturday, January 25, 2014 Metropolitan Methodios joined Cardinal Sean O'Malley and other religious leaders for an “Ecumenical Prayer for the Martyrs” Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service. The service took place at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Boston. Metropolitan Methodios offered the closing blessing.

On Saturday, January 25, Metropolitan Methodios will join Cardinal Sean O'Malley and other religious leaders for an “Ecumenical Prayer for the Martyrs” Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service. The service will take place at 2 pm at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Boston on this coming Saturday, January 25. Cardinal Sean will preach the sermon and Metropolitan Methodios will offer the closing blessing. The faithful of our Metropolis are all invited to attend and participate.

The Metropolis of Boston hosted a reception honoring Mayor Thomas Menino on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the St. Nektarios Church in Roslindale Massachusetts. His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios expressed his gratitude for the love and support Mayor Menino provided for the Greek Americans during his tenure as Mayor of Boston.

The Metropolis of Boston is seeking to identify a Director for the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center in Contoocook, New Hampshire. The Director must be a Greek Orthodox Christian knowledgeable of our faith, qualified to administer all aspects of the Center with special emphasis on the Retreat House. The Director reports to the Metropolitan of Boston who is advised by a seven-member committee. While we seek to engage the services of a clergyman, qualified Orthodox laymen will be given every consideration. For further information, please call the Metropolis at 617-277-4742.

On Sunday, November 24, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the newly decorated St. Catherine's Church in Braintree, Massachusetts. Ever since the Church Doors were open in 2008 the community has awaited for the church to be filled with authentic Byzantine Iconography.

On Saturday, November 16th over 60 people attended the DOXA Seminar. The theme for the seminar was entitled "Energizing the Teacher" and the guest speaker was Phillis Onest who is a well-knows religious education expert.

Sunday, November 10, 2013 - His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Taxiarchae Church in Watertown, Massachusetts with choir members from throughout the Metropolis of Boston. The Metropolis of Boston Federation of Church Musicians held it's three-day fall conference which was hosted by the Taxiarchae Church in Watertown.

Thursday, November 7, 2013 - His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, along with several clergy from the Metropolis of Boston, celebrated Great Vespers for the Feast of the Archangels at the Taxiarchae Archangels Church in Watertown, Massachusetts.

On October 11-14th, the National Sisterhood of Presvyteres Biennial Retreat was held at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center, in Contoocook, NH. The Presvyteres from the Metropolis of Boston hosted 58 participants from across the country, with the theme being “Seasons of the Presvytera”.

The North American Orthodox-Catholic Theological Consultation met in Toronto for their Annual Meeting from October 24- 26th. Present were twenty-five participants from both Churches from both Canada and the United States. This Consultation meets in Canada every five years, and they were welcomed to Canada by their Eminences, Metropolitan Archbishop Sotirios of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis as well as Cardinal Thomas Collins of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto, who jointly hosted a Luncheon at the Headquarters of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Toronto on October 25th.

The Divine Compassion Conference will be held on November 14-16, 2013 on the grounds of Hellenic College Holy Cross in Brookline, Massachusetts.

On Saturday, October 5th, 2013, 250 clergy and laity gathered at the Maliotis Cultural Center for the 2013 Metropolis of Boston Clergy Laity Conference. This year’s theme, “Best Practices in Successful Ministries” highlighted the very successful ministries offered by our communities throughout New England.

September 25, 2013 - His Emenince Metropolitan Methodios attended a welcome reception for the new Consul Genereal of Greece in Boston, Ifigenia Kanara. The reception was held at the Maltiotis Cultural Center in Brookline and hosted by the Federetion of Hellenic American Societies of New England.

In response to an invitation by His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios continued traveling with Patriarch Bartholomew from Estonia to Finland. Also accompanying the Patriarch during this official visit are His Eminence Geron Metropolitan Athanasio of Chalcedon, V. Rev. Dr. Theodore Meimaris (Third Patriarchal Deacon), V. Rev. Dr. Makarios Griniezakis (Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne), and Mr. Symeon Frantzelas (Chief Attendant).

On a beautiful and sunny and breezy August afternoon over 88 golfers ventured out in support of the annual Metropolis of Boston Golf Classic.

Directors Eleni Kalioaras and Sophia Kon have successfully organized and put forth a fabulous three week VCS day camp program at the St. Catherine's Parish in Braintree, Massachusetts. Under the direction of Father Phil Mousis, Eleni and Sophia have recruited several junior and senior counselors for the 40-50 children per week that will gather in this faith-based program that starts each day with prayer, and also most importantly in a fun environment with Orthodox children from the Braintree area and beyond.

The 2013 Metropolis of Boston Mission YOCAMA team returns home on Saturday July 20th 2013. Over 50 young adults from our New England parishes represented the Metropolis in a service mission trip to the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. On Friday evening, June 28th Metropolitan Methodios and Cardinal O'Malley joined in prayer at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Needham, Massachusetts for the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul. Several clergy from the Metropolis of Boston accompanied Metropolitan Methodios to the Vesper Service.

On Thursday evening, June 13, 2013 Clergy and laity from throughout the Metropolis joined Metropolitan Methodios in the Chapel of St. Andrew for the Vespers of St. Methodios the Confessor, Patriarch of Constantinople. Following the Vespers, the Metropolis Philoptochos Board hosted a wonderful reception in the Metropolis Center.

On Sunday, June 10, 2013 over 700 clergy and laity throughout New England filled the Lombardo's Function Facility in Randolph to celebrate the 27th Annual Metropolis of Boston Ministry Awards Dinner.

May 17, 2013 - His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos II of Athens and All Greece along with the Beatitude's entourage visited the headquarters of the Metropolis of Boston in Brookline, Massachusetts.

BOSTON – Almost exactly one month after the Boston Marathon terrorist attack, His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece visited the site of the attack at Boylston Street, where an ad hoc memorial has been created by the thousands of visitors. His Beatitude was accompanied by Archbishop Demetrios of America, Metropolitan Methodios of Boston and the other members of his entourage from Greece.

The Metropolis of Boston Oratorical Festival Finals were held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Metropolis Center in Brookline. This was the 30th anniversary of the St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival, a ministry of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Religious Education.

Sunday, April 21, 2013 Watertown, MA: marked an important first step in the long process of healing for the parishioners of the Taxiarchae-Archangels Greek Orthodox Church. Following the terror and violence on the streets and neighborhoods of the Watertown community over the past several days, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios made an Archpastoral visit to the Taxiarchae Church on Sunday, April 21, to celebrate the Divine Liturgy and to visit with families of the community that were immediately affected by these tragic events. Video of His Eminence addressing the community and photo's of his tour can be viewed through the website.

At the invitation of Governor Patrick of Massachusetts, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios participated in the Interfaith prayer service for the Boston Marathon tragedy at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston on Thursday, April 18. The service was broadcast live on most TV channels and online news outlets across the country.

The Holy Eparchial Synod of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, on the first day of its regularly scheduled spring meeting today under the presidency of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, issued a statement on the barbaric attack at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013.

We are all shocked with today's terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon. Once again, evil reared its ugly head and countless of our fellow citizens have been victimized. Our prayers and thoughts are with the victims and their families, as well as our governor, mayor, and police officials. We stand by our law enforcement agencies and all the heroic first responders as they begin the process of fully investigating this act of terrorism, and bring to justice those responsible.
