Rev. Fr. Andrew Giourelis has been serving the community of Holy Trinity in Danielson, Connecticut, since 2022. Fr. Andrew, together with his Presbytera, Colleen, and their daughter, Sophia, resides in Pomfret, Connecticut. Prior to his assignment in Danielson, Fr. Andrew served various parishes throughout the Metropolis of Boston, most notably assisting as a Deacon at St. Spyridon Cathedral under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Fr. Dean Paleologos.
Fr. Andrew graduated from Anna Maria College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 1998 and completed the Diaconate Program in 2011. He was ordained to the diaconate through the laying on of hands by His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios in 2012. While serving the Church as a deacon, he continued his seminary education and received a Master of Theological Studies degree in 2018. He was ordained to the Holy Priesthood in 2019.
In addition to his parish ministry, Fr. Andrew continues to serve in Emergency Medical Services as an Emergency Medical Technician and Dispatcher for the City of Worcester through Worcester EMS and UMass Life Flight. He is also a board member of the Massachusetts Corps of Fire Chaplains and serves as Fire Chaplain for Oxford Fire and EMS in Massachusetts, as well as the Pomfret Volunteer Fire Department in Connecticut. In addition, Fr. Andrew serves on the Central Massachusetts Critical Incident Stress Management Team and the Worcester EMS Peer Support Group, assisting and supporting first responders and caregivers in times of crisis.
Fr. Andrew often reflects that the ability to serve others is one of God’s greatest gifts, whether through parish ministry, bedside care, or chaplaincy. He and his family remain deeply grateful for God’s continued blessings and humbly ask for prayers as they continue to grow in their service to Christ and His Church.
