Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos Hosts Biennial Conference in Weston

Weston, MA — October 4, 2025 — The Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos held its biennial conference on Saturday, October 4, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston, MA. The event, held concurrently with the Metropolis Clergy-Laity Conference, brought together 80 chapter leaders from across New England for a day of faith, fellowship, and reflection on the ministry’s ongoing mission of service.

The conference provided an opportunity for members from parish chapters to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen bonds of sisterhood through meaningful dialogue and shared experiences. Participants received updates from the Metropolis Philoptochos Board and reflected on the past two years of impactful ministry — including the publication of the Metropolis Philoptochos Cookbook, the successful cookbook launch event, and the informative women’s health forum hosted in May.

A central theme of this year’s gathering was leadership development and chapter growth. Through discussions and breakout sessions, members explored ways to build and mentor leaders within their local Philoptochos chapters, ensuring the organization’s mission continues to flourish in the years ahead.

The Biennial Conference celebrated the presence of 80 dedicated members and noted the successful passage of the new Metropolis budget. Attendees also shared personal stories about their experiences in Philoptochos, offering inspiring examples of faith in action and mentorship.

The day concluded with renewed enthusiasm for the work ahead, as the Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos reaffirmed its commitment to serving with love, faith, and fellowship, and to supporting those in need throughout the Metropolis and beyond.
