Boston-Area Orthodox Christian Fellowship
This week, the Annunciation Cathedral Campus Ministry Program hosted the Orthodox Christian Fellowship Chapter of the Greater Boston Area for its first meeting of the academic and Ecclesiastical year. Over two dozen students from the surrounding universities of Northeastern, Wentworth, MCPHS, Simons, Emmanuel, Boston Conservatory and MassArt met this past Thursday. The OCF participants engaged in an opening prayer service led by Father Thomas Chininis, introductions, ice-breaker, a brainstorming session on activities for the semester, and a discussion on the future of our Cathedral Campus Ministry’s’ program that helped address the needs of the many young adults who attend the Cathedral. This group of students meets every Thursday night at 6:00 pm, alternating between a discussion on the faith and a fun activity. We welcome new undergrad and graduate students to attend OCF and are eager to continue to host young adults! For more information, please call the Annunciation Cathedral office at (617) 731 – 6633.
The OCF chapter was promoted at both Northeastern and MCPHS student activities fairs. Both promotional tables were visited by the presidents of the respected schools: Mr. Joseph E. Aoun, President of Northeastern, and Mr. Richard J. Lessard, President of MCPHS, who offered their unwavering support of the ministry that OCF provides to students of higher education. The presence of OCF at both activity fairs expaned our outreach efforts and invited over 50 new participants.
