Celebration of His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios' 40th Anniversary Ordination to the Episcopacy, November 13th in Portsmouth, NH

On Sunday afternoon, November 13, at the Saint Nicholas parish in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, a number of communities gathered to honor his Eminence Metropolitan Methodios on the occasion of his 40th anniversary to his ordination to the episcopacy. The four Maine parishes, Saco, Portland, Lewiston, and Bangor, as well as the two Sea Coast New Hampshire parishes, Portsmouth and Dover, came together to plan this event. Over 200 parishioners and guests attended the luncheon. The afternoon included a slide presentation highlighting of many of his Eminence’s visits to the northern New England parishes. A representative from each of the communities shared their gratitude and fond memories of his Eminence’s visits and pastoral love. A check was given on behalf of all the communities for $9,000 in his Eminence’s honor to assist with the building of the indoor sports facility at the Saint Methodios Faith and Heritage Center.

His Eminence was deeply touched by the expression of love from his spiritual children. He remarked that he has never been so moved by such a beautiful celebration of love and gratitude.  He said he came to this evening’s event not to be honored, but to honor the beautiful priests and parishioners of our communities that have dedicated their lives to Almighty God and His Holy Church.  Metropolitan Methodios was deeply honored by the presence of fellow priests, their presbyteres and children as well as the devout laymen who attended this family celebration.
