25th Annual Golf Classic Raises Over $200,000 for the Metropolis of Boston Camp
Tuesday, September 30, 2025On Tuesday, September 30, the Metropolis of Boston celebrated the 25th Annual Golf Classic, held at the Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover. The sold-out tournament brought together 136 golfers and more than 20 volunteers, raising over $200,000 in support of the Metropolis of Boston Camp (MBC). This year marked the most successful Golf Classic to date, highlighting 25 years of tradition, fellowship, and generosity.
Throughout the day, Metropolitan Methodios visited with players and volunteers, offering encouragement and personally thanking them for supporting the event. The spirit of community was especially evident when two campers from the Metropolis of Boston Camp shared heartfelt testimonials about their experiences. They described MBC as a “home” and spoke about the friendships, faith, and life lessons they gained, reminding everyone of the lasting impact the camp has on future generations.
The event was led by co-chairmen Manny Frangiadakis and Chris Chrisafides, whose leadership was instrumental in its success. They extended special thanks to the generous sponsors of the tournament, who made this milestone year possible. Gratitude was also expressed to the founding committee and the countless chairmen who guided the Golf Classic over the past quarter century, raising the bar year after year and ensuring the continued success of this beloved tradition.
In addition, Panos Coufos reflected on the financial impact that the Golf Classic makes on the camp. He highlighted how this fundraiser provides vital support for children who would not otherwise be able to attend camp due to financial burdens. He thanked everyone on behalf of the children whose lives are transformed by the experience.
The tournament concluded with a touching moment when 17 attendees raised their hands to each sponsor a camper through a “named camper scholarship.” It was an emotional highlight of the day, as the community came together to support a program that truly changes the lives of young people from throughout New England and beyond.
In his closing remarks, Metropolitan Methodios expressed heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors, to the chairmen for their tireless efforts, and all the volunteers. He especially thanked Panos Coufos, and Mike Sintros for their dedicated work at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center and MBC. He reminded everyone present that while all ministries are important, the most vital work of all is supporting the youth, the future of the Church and community.
The funds raised will go directly to supporting the Metropolis of Boston Camp, a cornerstone ministry that has shaped the lives of thousands of children and young adults. As the community reflects on the remarkable success of this year’s event, the Golf Classic remains a shining example of faith, fellowship, and generosity in action.
