In a momentous and emotional occasion, the faithful of Sts. Constantine and Helen Parish in Chicopee, MA, gathered for the final Presanctified Liturgy, celebrated by Fr. Dionysios Koulianos, Dn. Andreas Bushell and attended by His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios. All clergy members from Western Massachusetts, including Fr. Panteleimon Klostri and Fr. Thomas Cokotis attended. The service marked the culmination of a rich history spanning over a century, as the parish prepared to merge with Holy Trinity in Holyoke, MA.

Following the presanctified liturgy, His Eminence, the clergy, and numerous devoted parishioners embarked on a solemn yet uplifting procession to the Holy Trinity Parish in Holyoke. There, a sacred moment unfolded as the relics treasured in the altar of Sts. Constantine and Helen were reverently transferred to their new home, symbolizing the unification of two communities.

After the transfer, parishioners came together for a communal meal. As an expression of gratitude and dedication to the future of Orthodox youth, the faithful generously presented Metropolitan Methodios with a $50,000 donation. These funds will be allocated to scholarships, enabling children to attend the Metropolis of Boston Camp, ensuring that the faith and traditions of the Church continue to flourish in the next generation.

This historic evening was a celebration of the legacy of Sts. Constantine and Helen Parish, which has stood as a pillar of faith in Chicopee since its founding in 1921. The contributions of its founders, dedicated members, and devoted clergy were honored and remembered with deep appreciation. As this chapter closes, a new one begins for the Holy Trinity Parish in Holyoke, which now carries forward the shared traditions, history, and faith of both congregations.

With prayers for the continued growth and prosperity of all Orthodox communities in Western Massachusetts, this union stands as a testament to the enduring strength and unity of the Church. May this new chapter bring forth spiritual enrichment, communal harmony, and continued blessings for generations to come.
