GOYA and Assumption Church Youth Welcomed by Metropolitan Methodios at Annual Philoxenia House Visit

Members of the GOYA and parishioners of Assumption Church in Ipswich, MA, visited the Philoxenia House for their annual service visit, continuing a tradition of faith and fellowship. The group was welcomed by Metropolitan Methodios, who was present to greet the visitors and spend time with them, reinforcing the spirit of philoxenia—the love of hospitality—central to the Orthodox Christian faith.

During the visit, GOYA members and volunteers decorated the Philoxenia House for Christmas. They shared fellowship, and learned about the ministry, gaining a deeper understanding of the Philoxenia House’s mission. The annual visit remains a cherished experience for the Assumption Church community, offering youth the opportunity to grow spiritually while living out the values of service, compassion, and meaningful connection.
