GOYA Youth from Niles, Illinois Visit Metropolis of Boston, Engage in Service at Philoxenia House

GOYA students, parents, and chaperones, along with their priest, Fr. Tilemahos Alikakos, from Holy Taxiarhai & St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church in Niles, Illinois, visited the Metropolis of Boston. During their visit, they had an audience with Metropolitan Methodios at the Metropolis office. The group spent time with His Eminence, learning about the history of the Metropolis of Boston and asking questions about the ministries offered by the Greek Orthodox Church in New England. They also had the opportunity to tour the Metropolis building.

A highlight of their visit was their time spent at the Philoxenia House, where they participated in a service project to help clean the grounds in preparation for the spring season. The group set up solar path lights and a bird feeder, contributing to the beauty of the property.

Other members of the group worked together to organize donations that had been received from the Philoxenia Amazon wishlist. These donations included cleaning supplies, household necessities, bedding linens, and towels, all of which were carefully organized in preparation for upcoming guests at the Philoxenia House.

Metropolitan Methodios expressed his joy in hosting the visitors from the Metropolis of Chicago and fondly reminisced about their current Metropolitan Nathanael. It was truly a blessing to host the group. We are grateful for their visit and service they provided at the Philoxenia House.
