Monday, November 03, 2025

The Metropolis of Boston Federation of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians gathered this past weekend for its annual Choir Conference, hosted graciously at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover, MA. The weekend was filled with beautiful music, prayer, and fellowship as choir members from across the Metropolis and beyond came together to celebrate the sacred ministry of church music.

A highlight of the weekend was the Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning, celebrated by Metropolitan Methodios, who joined the visiting musicians and local faithful in worship. His Eminence’s presence and words of encouragement were an inspiration to all, reminding participants that their ministry of music uplifts the hearts of the faithful and enriches the spiritual life of the Church.

In his letter of greeting to the Federation, Metropolitan Methodios wrote:

“Your steadfast devotion to the sacred ministry of music continues to uplift the hearts of the faithful and enrich the spiritual life of our Holy Church through the beauty of our liturgical tradition... As you unite in worship, fellowship, and learning, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ strengthen and inspire you in your ministry.”

This year’s conference featured Guest Conductor Joanne Kambouris, Choir Director at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater, Florida, who led participants in a moving presentation of hymns from the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Guest Organist Lee Condakes offered his exceptional talent at the organ, enhancing the liturgical and choral experience for all who attended. Their musical leadership and artistry elevated the weekend’s worship and learning, leaving a lasting impression on participants.

His Eminence extended his gratitude to Fr. Christopher Makiej and the entire Saints Constantine and Helen parish community for their warmth and hospitality in hosting this year’s conference. Their graciousness helped create a memorable weekend of worship, learning, and connection.

Special thanks are also offered to Sophia Argeros, President of the Metropolis of Boston Federation of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians, for her leadership, and to the Federation Executive Board for organizing another successful and inspiring gathering.
