On Sunday, November 9th, Metropolitan Methodios attended Credo: Sacred Music from East and West at St. Paul’s Church in Harvard Square. The special concert was part of the Harvard Catholic Forum’s cultural and theological offerings and was co-presented by Hellenic College Holy Cross, St. Paul’s Harvard Square, and the St. Paul’s Choir School.

The program brought together two distinguished ensembles devoted to the beauty and depth of sacred music: the Holy Cross St. Romanos the Melodist Byzantine Choir, directed by Fr. Romanos Karanos, and the St. Paul’s/Harvard Square Parish Choir, directed by Nara Lee.

In honor of the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea, the concert celebrated the shared Christian heritage through music, weaving together the ancient sounds of Byzantine chant and the soaring harmonies of Western sacred choral traditions.

His Eminence’s presence highlighted the spirit of unity, mutual respect, and shared faith that the event embodied—an evening that uplifted hearts and reflected the enduring beauty of worship “in one voice and one heart.”
