Metropolitan Methodios Hosted the Three Hierarchs Celebration

His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios hosted a gathering and joined the faithful in celebrating the Feast of the Three Hierarchs, a day honoring St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory the Theologian, and St. John Chrysostom—champions of Orthodox theology and Hellenic education. This special event highlighted both the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Greek Orthodox Church, emphasizing the significance of faith, education, and the Greek language.

The celebration was attended by distinguished guests, including the Consul General of Greece in Boston, Symeon Tegos, and Professor Emeritus Rev. Dr. George Dragas, who delivered an insightful presentation on the history and theological contributions of the Three Hierarchs. His talk illuminated their lasting impact on Orthodox Christianity and Hellenic thought.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Greek Schools from the various parishes from the Metropolis of Boston participated with heartfelt poems and reflections. A vibrant a Greek dance performance was offered by The Sons and Daughters of Alexander the Great Dance Group, showcasing the connection between faith and culture in the Greek-American community.

At the conclusion of the event, Metropolitan Methodios offered a prayer and extended his warmest wishes for a blessed New Year. He then led the traditional cutting of the Vasilopita, sharing the joy of this time-honored tradition with all in attendance.
