Metropolitan Methodios Celebrates Feast Day at St. Athanasius the Great in Arlington

Sunday, January 18, 2026

On Sunday, January 18, Metropolitan Methodios celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Athanasius Church in Arlington, MA, together with the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Robert Archon. The church was filled with faithful who gathered in prayer to honor their patron saint and to share in the joy of this special celebration in the life of the community.

This year’s feast day was made even more meaningful as the parish marked the 60th anniversary of the consecration of its church. In a beautiful and moving moment, the parish presented His Eminence with a framed collection of photographs from the 1984 consecration of the church with Archbishop Iakovos, recalling a significant milestone in the history of the community and the Metropolis.

The parish also honored, Fr. Bob Archon on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his priesthood, presenting him with a pectoral cross in recognition of his many years of faithful and devoted service. Following the Divine Liturgy, the celebration continued with a luncheon and fellowship where parishioners greeted His Eminence and shared in a day filled with gratitude, joy, and thanksgiving for the abundant blessings bestowed upon their parish.
