Metropolitan Methodios Celebrates Feast Day of St. Demetrios in Weston, MA

November 26, 2025 — Weston, Massachusetts - The community of St. Demetrios Church in Weston, MA joyfully welcomed Metropolitan Methodios for the celebration of the parish’s feast day on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

His Eminence celebrated Divine Liturgy along with Fr. Tom Chininis, Fr. Nick Krommydas, and Fr. Savas Hourani. The service was filled with prayer, reverence, and thanksgiving as the faithful gathered to honor St. Demetrios the Myrrhstreamer, one of the Church’s most beloved and courageous martyrs.

Metropolitan Methodios expressed his deep gratitude for the warm hospitality of the Weston parish and the joy of celebrating the Divine Liturgy on such an important feast. He offered special thanks to Fr. Tom Chininis and Fr. Nick Krommydas for their sterling ministry and devoted service to the Church, and extended heartfelt appreciation to Fr. Alkiviadis Calivas, who was present for the liturgy and recognized for his many years of faithful priestly service. His Eminence welcomed Fr. Savas who is studying at Holy Cross from the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

Following the service, a reception was held in the parish hall, giving His Eminence the opportunity to greet parishioners and members of the Parish Council, and share fellowship with the community. Among those present was Parish Council President Chris Pappas, who expressed appreciation for the Metropolitan’s visit and blessings on this special occasion. The day was marked by faith, joy, and gratitude—a truly special celebration honoring the patron saint of the parish.
