Metropolitan Methodios’ Pastoral Visit at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, New London, CT

On Sunday, February 23, 2025 the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church community warmly welcomed His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, who presided over Orthros and the Divine Liturgy, celebrated alongside Fr. Peter Kostakis. 

After the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence tonsured seminarian James Babinski and blessed chanter George Papadopoulos, marking a significant milestone in each of their spiritual journeys.

Following the Liturgy, the parish hosted a welcoming reception attended by His Eminence, the parish council president, and the members of the congregation. In a warm gesture of hospitality and gratitude, the youth presented a special welcome gift to His Eminence, symbolizing the vibrant and hopeful spirit of the parish community.
