The faithful of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover, Massachusetts, gathered on Sunday, April 6 as His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios of Boston presided over the Divine Liturgy.

His Eminence bestowed a special blessing to tonsure seven young altar boys, marking an important step in their spiritual journey and service to the Church.

The day was made even more memorable as Metropolitan Methodios elevated Rev. Father Christopher Makiej to the office of Protopresbyter, in recognition of his 27 years of dedicated pastoral ministry to the Andover community. In his heartfelt remarks, His Eminence praised Fr. Chris for his unwavering love, humility, and steadfast service, noting the tremendous affection and joy the parish holds for both him and Presbytera Katerina.

Following the liturgy, parishioners gathered for a lovely Lenten luncheon, where community members expressed their gratitude and love for their community to Metropolitan Methodios. John Vitale, Parish Council President offered kind words on behalf of the parish, thanking His Eminence for his visit and speaking of the deep respect and admiration the community has for Fr. Chris and his decades of faithful service.
