Monday, June 23, 2025

Metropolitan Methodios joyfully visited three parishes over the weekend of June 21–22, 2025, attending the Greek festivals hosted by the parishes of St. Nicholas in Manchester, NH; St. Nicholas in Portsmouth, NH; and Taxiarchae Church in Watertown, MA.

St. Nicholas – Manchester, NH
Welcomed with warm hospitality by Rev. Fr. Philip Halikias and the Parish Council, His Eminence made his way through the festival grounds, where parishioners and volunteers proudly shared their traditions—from the delicate folding of baklava to the sizzling souvlaki grill and spirited Greek dancing. The proceeds from the festival support the parish’s ministries and philanthropic outreach.

St. Nicholas – Portsmouth, NH
The Portsmouth parish, under the spiritual leadership of Rev. Fr. Dimitrios Moraitis, once again brought the spirit of Greece to the seacoast, offering traditional food, music, and fellowship. Metropolitan Methodios greeted the faithful and expressed his appreciation to the Parish Council and volunteers for their labor of love, which not only strengthens bonds within the community but also supports important work.

Taxiarchae Church – Watertown, MA
On Sunday afternoon, June 22, His Eminence was joined by the Consul General of Greece in Boston, Mr. Symeon Tegos, for a visit to the parish of Taxiarchae in Watertown. They were warmly received by Rev. Fr. Athanasios Nenes, members of the Parish Council, and many families gathered for the festival. His Eminence visited each station with interest and care, learning about the parish’s ministries and greeting volunteers with pastoral affection. Consul General Tegos conveyed his admiration for the strong sense of community by the parish.

Through these pastoral visits, Metropolitan Methodios offered encouragement, gratitude, and a continued reminder of the spiritual and cultural heritage that unites our communities.
