Orthodox Canon Law Society of North America Holds Conference at Hellenic College Holy Cross

Brookline, MA – October 24, 2025 – The Orthodox Canon Law Society of North America (OCLSNA) opened its annual conference on Friday, October 24th, with a reception that welcomed one hundred participants at Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology (HCHC). The evening began with welcome remarks from the Rev. Dr. Patrick Viscuso, President of the Society, and Dr. Demetrios Katos, President of HCHC. Both speakers extended their gratitude to attendees and emphasized the importance of ongoing scholarship and dialogue in the field of Orthodox Canon Law.

His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios attended the reception and offered greetings on behalf of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston and introduced His Excellency Archbishop Richard Henning. Archbishop Henning of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston reflected upon the spirit of ecumenical cooperation and shared Christian witness.

The reception provided an opportunity for scholars, clergy, and students to connect in fellowship before the start of the conference presentations. Participants expressed enthusiasm and anticipation for the sessions ahead, which will explore a range of topics in Orthodox Canon Law and its application in contemporary life.
