On Sunday, March 26, Metropolitan Methodios presided at the Divine Liturgy and the Doxology at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral Boston, continuing the annual tradition held ahead of the Greek Independence Day parade festivities. Concelebrating with His Eminence were Fr. Odisseys Drossos and Deacon Vasilios Panagopoulos, as the Cathedral welcomed distinguished guests including the Honorable Ambassador Symeon Tegos, Consul General of Greece in Boston, members of the Hellenic Presidential Guard, visiting representatives from Greece, and the renowned Evzones. The presence of beloved children dressed in traditional Greek costumes added a joyful and meaningful expression of heritage to the celebration.
As is the longstanding tradition of the Metropolis of Boston, His Eminence offers the Divine Liturgy and Doxology at the Cathedral on the morning of the parade, uniting the faithful in prayer before the public festivities begin. The service stands as a powerful witness to the enduring bond between faith and freedom, honoring the sacrifices of those who came before us while giving thanks for the blessings shared by the Greek-American community today.
