Clergy Gather for Lenten Retreat at the St. Methodios Faith & Heritage Center
Wednesday, March 11, 2026Clergy from across the Metropolis of Boston gathered on March 10–11, 2026, at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center in Contoocook, NH, for the annual Clergy Lenten Retreat. Led by their spiritual father, Metropolitan Methodios, the retreat provided a meaningful opportunity for reflection, fellowship, and spiritual renewal during the sacred season of Great Lent.
The theme of this year’s retreat, “Ministering to Converts,” guided thoughtful discussions and presentations led by guest speakers Bishop John Abdalah and Fr. Alkiviadis C. Calivas. Through their presentations and conversations, clergy explored the pastoral challenges and blessings of welcoming converts into the Orthodox faith, sharing experiences and insights that strengthen parish life and ministry.
Throughout the retreat, the clergy of the Metropolis experienced moments of prayer, learning, and fraternal connection. The gathering offered a valuable time for brotherhood among the priests and deacons who serve the faithful throughout New England, strengthening their shared commitment to the spiritual care of their communities.
The retreat concluded with expressions of gratitude to the dedicated staff of the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center for their warm hospitality and careful preparation, which made the gathering both comfortable and spiritually enriching. The Metropolis clergy departed renewed in spirit and united in their mission to serve Christ and His Church.
