Metropolitan Methodios celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the Sunday of the Holy Cross at St. George Cathedral in Springfield, MA. It was a blessing for His Eminence to serve alongside the presiding priest of the Cathedral, the Rev. Fr. Dionysios Koulianos, celebrating together with the faithful of the parish community. The faithful gathered in prayer during the Lenten season, venerating the Precious and Life-Giving Cross as the Church continues its spiritual journey toward Holy Pascha.

In his homily, Metropolitan Methodios encouraged the faithful to open their hearts to the mercy of God as they anticipate the Resurrection of Christ. Reflecting on the significance of the Cross in the life of the Church, he reminded the congregation that through the Cross comes hope, renewal, and the promise of new life. His Eminence urged the faithful to allow their hearts to be filled with the light that shines forth from the empty tomb of Christ, guiding them through the remaining days of Great Lent with faith and devotion.

Following the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence shared in fellowship with the entire parish family during a lovely reception and luncheon graciously hosted by the Philoptochos and the Parish Council in honor of his visit. The day was made especially joyful as a group of children from the Catechetical school warmly welcomed His Eminence, presenting him with cards and letters expressing their gratitude and thanking him for visiting their parish. It was a meaningful and uplifting day for the St. George Cathedral community, marked by prayer, fellowship, and the shared joy of gathering as one parish family.
