Metropolitan Methodios visited Holy Trinity Church in Lewiston, Maine, on the Fifth Sunday of Great Lent, commemorating St. Mary of Egypt. Concelebrating the Divine Liturgy with Fr. Anastasios Bendo and Dn. Vasilios Panagopoulos, His Eminence was warmly received by the faithful, especially the youth of the parish, who welcomed him with great joy and reverence.
During his homily, Metropolitan Methodios spoke about the solemn journey toward Christ’s Passion and the anticipation of Palm Sunday, reminding the faithful to prepare their hearts as they await the Resurrection of our Lord. Following the service, the parish youth offered a special presentation in honor of the Greek Independence Day, reciting poems that celebrated the enduring spirit of faith and freedom.
The visit continued with a warm fellowship gathering, where His Eminence had the opportunity to connect personally with members of the parish community. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of the Church in Lewiston as a spiritual home—a family of believers called to support and uplift one another. He expressed his sincere gratitude to Fr. Anastasios for his faithful leadership and to the parish Philoptochos for their dedicated service, noting that such ministries strengthen the unity and vitality of the parish.
