Metropolitan Methodios celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the Fourth Sunday of Great Lent at Holy Trinity Church in Fitchburg, MA, joined by the recently assigned parish priest, Fr. Andrew Bushell. It was a joy to be with the community for this prayerful Lenten gathering, as clergy and faithful came together in worship and fellowship. In his homily, His Eminence reflected on the commemoration of St. John of the Ladder, author of The Ladder of Divine Ascent, encouraging the faithful to remain steadfast and faithful in their spiritual journey toward Christ during Great Lent, with hearts set on the hope and light of the Resurrection at Pascha.
During the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Methodios also bestowed a special blessing upon Fr. Andrew, appointing him to the office of Father confessor, entrusting him with this sacred responsibility in the life of the Church. The day concluded with a warm and welcoming reception, offering an opportunity for fellowship and celebration as the stewards gathered and receive the Archpastoral blessing of their Metropolitan.
