Friday, March 13, 2026

Metropolitan Methodios presided over the Service of the Third Salutation to the Holy Theotokos at Taxiarchae Church in Watertown, MA. The service was prayerfully offered during the season of Great Lent, bringing together clergy and faithful who gathered to honor the Mother of God through the beautiful hymns of the Akathist. The presiding priest of the parish, the Rev. Fr. Athanasios Nenes, welcomed His Eminence and the faithful who came to participate in this beloved Lenten tradition of the Orthodox Church.

In his homily, Metropolitan Methodios reflected on the role of the Theotokos as the mother of all Christians, reminding the faithful that she stands as a model of humility, faith, and obedience to God. He encouraged the congregation to open their hearts to the will of God just as the Virgin Mary did at the time of the Annunciation, responding with complete trust and devotion. By following her example, His Eminence noted, the faithful are reminded to listen carefully to God’s will in their lives and to respond with the same spirit of faith and surrender shown by the Mother of God.
