Metropolitan Methodios Presides at Holy Friday Services in Boston and Arlington

On Holy Friday afternoon, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios presided at the Apokathelosis Service at St. John the Baptist Church in Boston, MA with Fr. The Barbas. The faithful gathered in prayerful stillness as the Church commemorated the taking down of Christ from the Cross. His Eminence was especially heartened by the presence of the many children who participated in the parish’s Good Friday retreat, offering a visible sign of faith being nurtured in the next generation as they took part in this sacred day.

That evening, Metropolitan Methodios presided at the Orthros of Holy Saturday, including the Lamentations before the Epitaphios, at St. Athanasius Church in Arlington, MA with Fr. Robert Archon. The moving hymns of the Lamentations were offered with reverence and devotion, as the community stood united in mourning and hope. His Eminence thanked Fr. Robert for the beautiful service and encouraged the parish to continue working together to encourage the younger generation who will be the future of Saint Athanasius.
