Winter Camp Session Two at the Faith and Heritage Center

Monday, February 23, 2026

From February 13–15, more than 200 campers and staff gathered for the second Winter Camp session at the Metropolis of Boston Camp (MBC). The weekend was filled with energy, laughter, and meaningful opportunities for young people to deepen their faith while strengthening friendships old and new.

This session’s theme centered on the powerful message of the Last Judgment in Gospel of Matthew 25. Through engaging talks, discussions, and reflections, campers explored what it truly means to live a life rooted in Christ—serving others with humility, love, and compassion. The call to care for “the least of these” challenged campers to see their daily actions as opportunities to reflect Christ in their schools, homes, and parishes.

A particular blessing of the weekend was the presence of His Eminence, Metropolitan Methodios, who spent two full days at camp. His time with the campers and staff—whether in chapel, at meals, or simply in conversation—was deeply meaningful. The campers cherish the opportunity to be with their Metropolitan in such a personal setting, and the staff are always grateful for his fatherly guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support of the ministry of camp.

The weekend also featured the outdoor adventures that have become hallmarks of MBC’s winter program. Campers spent a full day at Pat's Peak, taking to the slopes for skiing and snowboarding or enjoying snow tubing with friends. Another excursion brought the group to Contoocook, where campers visited the Hopkinton Fire Department, toured Houston Dairy Farm, stopped at a local maple sugar house, and enjoyed time skating together. The evening dance in the Sleigh Room at Pat’s Peak provided a joyful conclusion to a full day of activity.

At the heart of the weekend was the celebration of the Divine Liturgy. The chapel was filled with the voices of campers singing together as one choir—a moving reminder that camp is not only about recreation, but about worship and spiritual growth.
