Operation Classroom: Cathedral Philoptochos Donates to The Dimock Center

The Ladies Philoptochos Society of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of New England (Chapter #3014) recently participated in Operation Classroom by hosting a school supplies drive to benefit The Dimock Center’s Child & Family Program in Boston. Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos Board Hosts Luncheon to Launch New Cookbook, Around the Metropolis Table

On the afternoon of November 23, 2024, the Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos Board hosted a luncheon to launch their new cookbook, Around the Metropolis Table, dedicated to Metropolitan Methodios on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his enthronement. The luncheon was attended by over 190 faithful from throughout New England.  A lovely afternoon was organized at the Ithaki Restaurant in Peabody, MA. Με δόξα και τιμή, με ποιήματα, τραγούδια και χορούς, ομιλίες και μηνύματα γιορτάστηκαν τα Ελληνικά Γράμματα και η Ελληνική Γλώσσα στη Βοστώνη την Κυριακή 11 Φεβρουαρίου, στο κοινοτικό Κέντρο του Καθεδρικού Ναού της Βοστώνης στο Μπρούκλαϊν. In response to the Memorial Day and Independence Day appeals, on Tuesday, June 27, 2022, the Veterans Administration loaded two trucks full of donations from the generosity of the Metropolis Philoptochos Chapters and Parishes for Veterans who are transitioning to permanent, independent living. A very generous donation of $10,000 given to Operation Housewarming by George Safiol. The Chairs of Operation Housewarming and the President of the Philoptochos Board met with members of the VA Health Care System to identify their needs and where the funds would best be utilized. The $10,000 will be used to benefit our homeless veteran population residing in a Transitional Residential Program at three locations: Crescent House in Lowell MA, Domiciliary in Bedford MA, and the Transitional House in Boston MA. Philoxenia Updates 2021

March 2021- Philoxenia House We want to share great news about The Philoxenia House. Under the guidance of His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, renovations took place during the months of January and February 2021. Major improvements consisted of new electrical work, painting, updated personal bathrooms and the purchase of new blinds throughout the house. The kitchen has a newly installed sink, faucet, and hood vent. All eleven bedrooms have received new linens, towels, and decor pieces. Continue Reading... »
