The clergy of the Metropolis of Boston gathered at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center for their annual two-day Clergy Lenten Retreat. This cherished tradition brought together clergy from across New England for a time of spiritual renewal, fellowship, and preparation for the celebration of Pascha. On Sunday, March 9, the faithful gathered at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Cambridge, MA, for the solemn and joyous celebration of the Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers. The service was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, who led the congregation in worship, marking this significant occasion in the liturgical calendar. Metropolitan Methodios made his annual pastoral visit to the Annunciation Church in Dover, NH this past Sunday. Metropolitan Methodios presided over the liturgy alongside the parish priest, Fr. Anthony Evangelatos, leading the congregation in prayer and worship. The church was filled with parishioners of all ages, especially children, reflecting the vibrancy of the community. On March 7, 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios visited the parish of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Boston, MA, for a pastoral visit. His Eminence presided over the Salutations to the Theotokos service On March 2, 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios made a pastoral visit to St. Athanasios Church in Arlington, MA, where he celebrated the Orthros and Divine Liturgy with parish priest Fr. Bob Archon. Following the service The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston is pleased to offer 2025-2026 academic year scholarship opportunities for U.S. and Canadian students who are of Greek descent or of the Greek Orthodox Faith and entering their second, third, or fourth year of undergraduate studies. The Metropolis of Boston hosted its Orthodoxy on Tap Tsiknopempti celebration on Thursday, February 22, 2025, at the Farm Grill in Newton. Over 70 young adults from across the Metropolis gathered for an evening of food and fellowship ahead of the Lenten season, which begins with Meatfare Sunday this weekend. KefiFM and HBBU Join Forces Again for 2025 Radiothon to Sponsor Children of the Metropolis of Boston Camp
Following the incredible success of last year’s event, which raised funds to send 10 children to the Metropolis of Boston Camp, KefiFM is once again partnering with Hellenic Boston Businesses Unite (HBBU) to host the 2025 Radiothon. On Sunday, February 23, 2025 the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church community warmly welcomed His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios Metropolitan Methodios visited the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center during its Winter Camp session and was pleased to see the ongoing construction of the new Indoor Gymnasium and Field House.
The project has been making steady progress, with notable updates as of February 14. From February 15-17, the Metropolis of Boston Camp hosted the second of two Winter Camp sessions, marking the official start of the 2025 camping season. Due to the program's growth over the past two years, two GOYA Winter Camp sessions were necessary to accommodate nearly 300 young adult staff members and campers. The clergy of the Metropolis of Boston convened at the Metropolis Center for their monthly Syndesmos meeting, bringing together priests from across New England. The gathering, led by Metropolitan Methodios, provided an opportunity for spiritual fellowship, discussion, and updates on key ministry initiatives. In response to the devastating fires in Southern California, the Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos Board, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, has contributed $10,000 to Saint Sophia Church in Los Angeles. This donation is intended to support brethren affected by the catastrophic fires, offering them some measure of comfort and relief during this difficult time. This past December, 27 young adults and members of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston journeyed to Mt. Athos, as part of a pilgrimage of faith. Thanks to the dedication, friendship and collaboration of His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios of Boston and Barnabas of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, the pilgrims were extended incredible hospitality at the Monastery of Xenophontos as they were immersed in the monastic life, all while uniquely connecting to their faith. His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios was pleased to join Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and many clergy from across the Archdiocesan District for their annual Clergy Lenten Retreat which took place at Hellenic College Holy Cross (HCHC).
