Every Holy Week, the Church puts before us two great mysteries. The first is that Life itself, the Son of God through Whom everything was created, died and was buried. The second is that Christ, a Man (as St. Paul teaches) “like us in every way except sin” (Heb. 4:15), rose from the dead. God came to this world to die so that we may live with Him. As great a common enemy death is for us, so great is the victory that we celebrate tonight. St. Paul acclaims, “O death where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” (1 Cor. 15:55) Every Holy Week, the Church puts before us two great mysteries. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover, Massachusetts, gathered on Sunday, April 6 as His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios of Boston presided over the Divine Liturgy. His Eminence bestowed a special blessing to tonsure seven young altar boys, marking an important step in their spiritual journey and service to the Church. On Sunday, March 30, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios presided at the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Haverhill, MA. Fr. Makarios Niakaros and the entire parish community warmly welcoming His Eminence. Following his visit, Metropolitan Methodios attended the annual basketball banquet in Lynn, MA, marking the conclusion of the Metropolis of Boston Youth Basketball League season. On Friday evening, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios of Boston presided at the Salutations to the Theotokos services at the Annunciation Church in Cranston, RI. His Eminence offered words of encouragement and congratulations to Fr. Nicholas Lanzourakis, the newly appointed Proistamenos of the parish. Metropolitan Methodios announces his 2025 Holy Week and Pascha schedule. Ο ιερατικός προϊστάμενος και καθηγητής της Θεολογικής Σχολής Πρωτοπρεσβύτερος Ρωμανός Καράνος και μέλη της κοινότητας συμμετείχαν στην τελετή που διοργανώθηκε στο Ελληνικό Προξενείο Βοστώνης την Κυριακή 23 Μαρτίου και καμάρωσαν τα παιδιά του Ελληνικού Σχολείου Ολοι μιλούν για τη γιορτή της εθνικής επετείου της Ελλάδας από τους Τούρκους που έγινε στο Γενικό Προξενείο της Βοστώνης την Κυριακή 23 Μαρτίου. Κι αυτό γιατί ήταν ποιοτική, σύντομη αφού διήρκεσε μία ώρα ακριβώς. Τα παιδιά της Ομογένειας των ελληνικών σχολείων των κοινοτήτων της Μητρόπολης Βοστώνης βροντοφώνησαν με τη δύναμη και του κορμιού και της ψυχής τους «ζήτω η Ελλάδα». This past weekend, the Metropolis of Boston Camp hosted a meaningful retreat for families raising children with disabilities. The event, which took place at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center, welcomed 15 families from across the region. The retreat provided a supportive and inclusive environment where families could connect, share experiences, and strengthen their faith. On March 23rd, Metropolitan Methodios visited St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn, MA, to celebrate the Sunday of the Holy Cross. He served the Divine Liturgy with Fr. Alex Orphanos, Proistamenos of the parish. Αυτή δεν ήτανε εκδήλωση, δεν ήτανε γιορτή, αλλά ήταν ένας ύμνος της Ομογένειας της Βοστώνης και Νέας Αγγλίας προς την Ελλάδα, που έγινε στο εσπέρας της Κυριακής 23 Μαρτίου στο γενικό προξενείο της Ελλάδος στη Βοστώνη. Η έκπληξη της γιορτής ήταν η παρουσία του πρώην πρωθυπουργού της Ελλάδας κ. Αλέξη Τσίπρα, ο οποίος από το βράδυ της Παρασκευής βρίσκεται στη Βοστώνη... His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios welcomed Metropolitan Myron of New Zealand and Fr. Meletios to the Metropolis Office. During their visit, they shared inspiring stories about their mission work in New Zealand and Oceania, discussing the growth of the Orthodox faith in the region and their ongoing efforts to expand the church. In a momentous and emotional occasion, the faithful of Sts. Constantine and Helen Parish in Chicopee, MA, gathered for the final Presanctified Liturgy, celebrated by Fr. Dionysios Koulianos, Dn. Andreas Bushell and attended by His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios. All clergy members from Western Massachusetts, including Fr. Panteleimon Klostri and Fr. Thomas Cokotis attended. The service marked the culmination of a rich history spanning over a century, as the parish prepared to merge with Holy Trinity in Holyoke, MA. The Holy Cross Chapel in Boston became a place of solemn reverence and heartfelt remembrance as the Metropolis of Boston clergy and clergy from across the Archdiocese gathered to bid farewell to a beloved spiritual leader, Fr. George Papademetriou. Presiding over the funeral service was His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios. The presence of numerous clergy from both the Metropolis of Boston and beyond was a beautiful testament to the love and respect Fr. George had garnered throughout his life. The Metropolis Youth Basketball League has wrapped up another exciting and successful season, bringing together youth from across the region to engage in spirited competition, fellowship, and sportsmanship.
