Anglican-Orthodox Theological Dialogue gathered at St. Demetrios Church in Weston, MA

Twenty delegates of the Anglican-Orthodox Theological Dialogue gathered at St. Demetrios Church in Weston, MA for worship on Sunday, October 6th.  His Eminence Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium together with His Eminence Metropolitan Serafim of Zimbabwe and Angola celebrated the Divine Liturgy along with Orthodox clergy from the Antiochian, Georgian, Romanian Patriarchate, from Greece, Cyprus and other Patriarchal jurisdictions who participate in the Dialogue as well as the parish clergy of St. Demetrios.  Also present were Metropolitan Methodios of Boston and His Eminence Nifon of Targoviste (Romania).

His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios welcomed the participants of the Dialogue encouraging them to continue their conversations and theological dialogue as they work to bring the faith traditions closer to one another.  His Eminence Metropolitan Athenagoras welcomed and introduced the Anglican members of the Commission who gathered from around the world.  The Anglican-Orthodox Theological Dialogue marks its 50th Anniversary with this gathering hosted by the Huffington Ecumenical Institute at Hellenic College and Holy Cross School of Theology, October 4-10.

Following the services on Sunday, Metropolitan Methodios and the St. Demetrios parish hosted a luncheon for the delegates.  During the luncheon many of the delegates expressed their joy in worshiping together, the beauty and meaning of the Divine Liturgy, and the welcoming atmosphere of the parish.
