Metropolitan Methodios’ Pastoral Visit to St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, South End Boston

On Sunday, January 12, 2025, the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in the South End of Boston welcomed His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios for a pastoral visit and celebration of the Divine Liturgy. His Eminence co-celebrated the service with Rev. Fr. Ted Barbas, the parish priest and Chancellor of the Metropolis of Boston.

His Eminence officiated the swearing-in of the new Parish Council for the upcoming year, blessing their efforts to serve the church and its faithful. The ceremony was a moment of renewal and commitment for the parish leadership as they embarked on their mission to further the ministry of the community.

The celebration continued with a festive reception in honor of the parish’s feast day. Parishioners and guests gathered in fellowship to enjoy refreshments and mark the occasion. As part of the New Year traditions, Metropolitan Methodios led the cutting and distribution of the Vasilopita.
