Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA:  The 38th Metropolis of Boston Ministries Awards Dinner was held on Sunday, June 9, at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. Over 850 guests from more than 55 parishes across New England participated. The event is hosted annually dedicated to honoring those who go above and beyond in service within their communities.

In attendance was His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Formerly of America, who led the celebration  commemorating the 40th anniversary of His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios's enthronement as Bishop/Metropolitan of Boston.

Among the many memorable moments was the presentation by the Alpha and Omega Council of a $250,000 check to Metropolitan Methodios, earmarked for the construction of a new indoor sports facility at the Metropolis of Boston Camp, with a pledge by it’s Trustees and Members to match that gift for a total of at least $500,000. This generous contribution underscored their commitment to our Metropolis of Boston Camp, and our youth and young adults ministries at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center in Contoocook, New Hampshire.

Highlighting the spirit of stewardship and service were the recipients of the Metropolitan Award: George and Margo Behrakis, George and Karen Danis, and George Safiol. Their contributions and unwavering dedication serve as examples for all members of the Metropolis of Boston.  Over 60 individuals from the parishes from all of the New England states were recognized and honored by Metropolitan Methodios for their outstanding service of love to their local Communities.

Additionally, the Metropolis of Boston Scholarship Committee awarded six scholarships totaling over $40,000 to deserving college students. This investment in the college careers of our youth,  underscores the Metropolis's dedication to our young adults who will ultimately are assuming leadership positions in the life of the Church.

The Metropolis Philoptochos Board presented the Metropolitan with over $50,000 in donations towards specific ministries within the Metropolis.  The annual Awards Dinner serves as a testament to the profound impact of collective stewardship and service within The Metropolis of Boston.

This year marks the 40th anniversary since the Enthronement of His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios as Bishop/Metropolitan of Boston by Archbishop Iakovos of blessed memory.  This year also commemorates the 50th anniversary of Metropolitan Methodios’ ordination to the Holy Diaconate.  We pray for many years of good health for our Metropolitan, as he continues his dedicated and dynamic Archpastoral ministry to the faithful clergy and laity of the  Metropolis of Boston!!
