THE METROPOLIS OF BOSTON CAMP HOSTS THE FIRST OF TWO WINTER CAMP PROGRAMS TO ENRICH LIVES AND FOSTER THE FAITH

In response to the overwhelming demand for enrollment, MBC has introduced two winter camp sessions, allowing more campers to experience this transformative program.

BOSTON, Mass. (Jan. 24, 2024) — During the weekend of January 19-21, the Metropolis of Boston Camp hosted 68 campers and over 30 staff members at the first of two winter camp programs at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center in Contoocook, NH. The program ran from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.

Campers and staff participated in a weekend filled with fun and games, all while grounding themselves in the faith. The program also offered kids the opportunity to choose a field trip. Campers decided to either spend a day at Pats Peak, a local ski mountain, to engage in skiing, snowboarding, and tubing, or embark on a journey around Contoocook on the “Tour de Tooky.” This venture included trips to Marklin Candle Design, Rogers Maple Syrup, and Houston’s Pine Lane Farm.

Given the large demand for enrollment at its fall camp program, MBC opened two winter camp sessions to allow more campers to experience the faith and foster an appreciation for the community. This marks the first-ever expansion of winter camp offerings in MBC's history.

“This fall, about 100 campers were left on the waitlist because too many signed up to accommodate. We asked our staff to answer the call to serve and offer two GOYA winter camps for the first time in MBC history… they answered!” said Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries and MBC Camp Director Panos Coufos.
